Their are two species of Lissocampus currently known in southern Australia, the Smooth Pipefish Lissocampus caudalis, and the Javelin Pipefish L. runa.

Javelin Pipefish Lissocampus runa: From southern NSW to southern WA where it is considered locally common 

in rock pools and on mixed rubble and algae substrates. There are few specimens of L. runa from South Australia. However targeted searches of suitable habitat are needed to find this species.

As little is known any images or information regarding the Lissocampus genera would be welcome.
