The table shows the pipefish,
pipe-horses and pygmy-pipehorses of Southern Australasia
The opportunities for divers to
discover new species of fish, even in very well known areas,
was shown in South Australia in 2003 when a new species of
pipefish have been found on the metropolitan shoreline of Adelaide
the Capital City. These discoveries and others in the
Gobies, Clingfish, and three fins suggest that there must be
numerous unnamed inshore demersal fish in the more isolated
regions of southern Australasia |
